Meet Kayla

I grew up with cameras around me all my life. My grandpa was a photographer and would bring his camera to any family occasion. I would somehow always get my hands on it while the rest of the family was gathered around the dinner table. I loved messing with the buttons trying to figure out what each one did and then when I got something that was clear and in focus, it felt like coming up from being trapped underwater. I have always felt a deep connection with emotions and images that tug at my heartstrings, and I knew that someday I wanted to create those images myself.

I purchased my first camera during 2020 when we were all bored out of our minds and trying to find hobbies to fill our time. I had my sister model for me to really learn the mechanics of my camera -- shoutout to her for putting up with me! Going back to college in the fall, I would run around campus offering free photoshoots to anyone I could find. My extroverted side was absolutely thriving. Then I invested money into really learning the technicalities of photography and higher quality gear. I made the choice to specialize in wedding photography and the rest is history. 

I make it my first priority to connect with all of my clients before booking -- connection is very important to me. Because of this, you will most likely catch me crying at each wedding I shoot. I recently graduated with my undergraduate degree in psychology, and I split my time between photography and working in mental health crisis care at a psychiatric center in my hometown. I have multiple passions and love doing it all. I love loving on others and have found that both of my jobs give me an opportunity to do that!
